Today is a busy day, with not a whole lot new happening at Plot 63 of the Roseville Community Garden, so I’ll just post up the latest images, taken last night before I weeded & watered. It’s now been 50 days since I started the garden, and most of the plants are looking good…and tasting even better! Be sure to follow the link below (at the break) for more pictures of individual plants.
Plot 63 at Roseville Community Garden, taken Sunday, July 8, 2012 – 50 days since planting.
The pepper plants (foreground) – started from seeds – have really taken off with the hot weather.
Some jalapeno peppers, almost ready for picking.
Fiery Chinese pepper plant has hundreds of tiny peppers sprouting, and even more flowers blooming.
The fennel plants are also taking off with all the warm weather. I can’t wait for the first plant to be big enough to grill!
Tiny butternut squash are forming as the vines run rampant through the tomato patch!
In just a matter of 10 days, the acorn squash have grown to about the size of a softball! Probably a dozen or so on this one plant.
The rewards of hard work in the garden: a salad of sliced radish and romaine lettuce with creamy buttermilk dressing! Yum!
More of the “bounty of the garden.” Two Black Beauty Summer Squash from my garden, and three tasty cucumbers from my garden neighbors, the Kowalski’s. Had a zingy cucumber salad with country-style ribs the other night! Thanks John & Roxanne!
